Jan 30-Friday Day 2

Did you read, and have your parent(s) or guardians read the course information form and submit it to me. Those who have done so will receive two bonus marks on their next homework check.
Chem 122 the answers were given to last night's homework. We went over the calculations involving specific heat and heat capacity from yesterday. I went over the enthalpy formula and phase changes and passed out table 17.1,17.2,17.3 on a page for easy reference .p 521- p 524 21,22 #23, 24. Would you also print out the table from yesterday( below) on acids bases and salts..

Chem111 P 1 -(bring water soluble markers for tuesday)We briefly went over the chromatography mini lab(now we will do this on Monday). The rest of the class was spent working on metric. You are to try 1 to 14 on the handout you received today and complete it by tuesday.
I assigned p 55 28 to 34 and p 42 #1 to 8.

Chem 112-P 3,4. I will go over two step metric conversion questions today. Please do 1 to 10 on the metric handout for tuesday. Anyone who is absent will see the handout linkon the left of this site. The answers are also there. Please note that there are a few errors in the answers.
-I am going to go over the start of separation of matter on as I would like to have you do a mini chromatography lab this coming week.
Homework:
You will be working on some theory questions p 11 #1 to 4, 7 p 25 #18 From p 22 draw diagram into your notes and write all darkened definitions. Do 1-10 on the tiny metric conversion hadout(for tuesday)

Monday Feb 2-Day 3
Chem 122
Homework for monday: Do handout ques #1 and start naming assignment
Today we will review enthalpy change and check over the answers for #23,24 from p 524 and work with total energy and heating and cooling curves. We practised drawing various curves.
I also reviewed naming...you received an assignment that is due on Friday.

Chem 111-P1-absent Friday---here is the prelab document----
Assigned Homework: metric sheet 1-14 for tuesday/ start working on pre-lab/water soluble markers needed for wednesday's mini lab
The first half of the class, you will be learning about the ways of separating matter(we will finish this on monday)and the other half of the class will be spent in the lab doing an activity that involves answering a questionaire on safety features of the lab.You will also received a pre-lab sheet that needs to be done by next monday. Please bring in water soluble markers for wednesday's class as we will be doing a mni-lab on chromatography.

Chem 112-P3,4
Assigned Homework: Finish 1-10 metric sheet/ p 47 11 to 17
We went over the eight ways of separating matter. We also did a safety exercise in the lab to start getting ready for our first set of labs.

day we will go over sections 1.1, 2.1 and 2.4. we complete the notes on separating matter.
We will check the answers to: p 42 1 to 8
There is a copy of it on the handout link. The final answers are also there(be careful...there are a few that are purposely wrong).
You will do an activity friday on chromatography so tonight you will find as many ways you can for separating matter and write them into your notebook.
One way is to use evaporation
